300 Million Dollars, Week 4, Day 1, Part 2

300 Million Dollars

What would I do with 300 million dollars?  I would likely share it between my family first, then I would spend the rest on an okay, but not too expensive house.  The reason I would not buy a mansion is for this reason; even with 300 million dollars, covering the costs of a mansion would still be a challenge. This is because of the amount of energy, water, food and other supplies which is used per month, meaning it would be a giant bill every year.  This is why I would not get a giant mansion and just get a small, but decent house with equipment that doesn't break all the time, if I still had extra money (which is highly likely) I would store some of it in the bank to get extra income, and most of all, some insurance for the future.

  1. Kia ora Aedan,

What a sensible and mature way to spend the $300 million dollars. You sound much wiser beyond your age! Go you! :)

It is great to see you have really given the mansion situation a lot of thinking. I think I would do the same, if I'm honest. I've never really been a fan of living in a great big mansion - it just all seems a bit excessive to me. It would feel too airy and almost lonely having a house that big. Plus, having to clean the whole place would be a nightmare!

It sounds to me like you would be living a very humble, but steady lifestyle. It's awesome!

Super thinking with the insurance! I've just lost my phone, but luckily my Mum has contents insurance so they will be able to replace me with a new phone (or so I hope). Why do you think it is important to get insurance for things like homes and expensive equipment like cars and phones?

    Keep up the great blogging!

    Noho ora mai,

    Emiely :)
