Name of Prime Minister: Geoffrey Palmer

Political Party: New Zealand Labour Party
Number of Years as Prime Minister: August 1989 until September 1990
Three interesting facts about my chosen Prime Minister:
1. They were only a prime minister for around one year.
2. He was made a Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George in 1991, and was also made an Honorary Companion of the Order of Australia in the same year!
3. In the year 1991, he was listed on the United Nations Global 500 Roll of Honour for his work on environmental issues.

ReplyDeleteYou have done a great job of following the layout of the template to complete this activity. Geoffrey Palmer sounds like he has done some phenomenal work over the years. He sounds like a very well deserved, prestigious man with some great achievements under his belt.
I had never heard of him before, so thanks for sharing this. Being Prime Minister for one year sound like rather a short time. Do you know why his role as New Zealand's Prime Minister was so short? I'd be really interested to know if you were happy to find out and share this information with me!
