Art Deco, Week 2, Day 2, Part 2

What I'm Rating:
Image result for art deco woman driving car

My Rating:
Image result for 3.5 stars

I've given this rating because although it is delicately and well made, I feel that it should have a little more pizzazz to it, such as there should be something in the background and you can see it, or just look through the car and see it.  Maybe there could be a logo of some sort on the car to indicate something or some place.

  1. Kia ora Aedan,

Great job with your presentation of this blog post. The star rating that you have done looks really effective! It is quite a close up painting, isn't it? That means the artist has chosen to paint only some of the woman's body and part of the car, rather than all of it. I like that you have added a suggestion for the artist like adding something in the background or a logo on the car. Well done.

I like the way the artist has used different shades of green (for the car) and cream (for the woman's scarf) to make shadows and highlights in this painting, giving the painting more depth.

I wonder what other Art Deco painting's there are from the 1920s in New Zealand? Would you be able to find another one from this era and link it to me?

I look forward to hearing from you and keep up the great blogging!

    Noho ora mai,

    Emiely :)
